AI voice agents workflows for Malaysian businesses

Property & Real Estate

KL property agency receives hundreds of new leads every month from online portals. Instead of agents spending half their day making follow up calls, OpenGreet contacts every lead within minutes of enquiry using our AI Sales Calls solution, qualifies their budget and timeline in Bahasa Melayu or English, and schedules viewings. Agents only speak to serious buyers

Healthcare

A Penang medical clinic loses appointments to no-shows every week. OpenGreet uses our AI Appointment Setter to call patients 24 hours before their appointment to confirm attendance, reschedule if needed, and collect basic pre-visit information. No-show rates drop significantly without adding any admin headcount.

Retailer & Ecommerce

An online retailer in Malaysia processes hundreds of orders weekly but struggles to follow up on abandoned carts and pending payments. OpenGreet handles delivery enquiries using our AI Customer Service solution while reminding customers to complete their purchases

No two Malaysian businesses run the same way. Tell us your workflow and we'll configure OpenGreet around it.

How the Malaysia ROI Calculator Works +

True Employment Cost

Most cost comparisons only look at base salary, which understates what a staff member actually costs a Malaysian employer. This calculator adds EPF employer contribution (13%), SOCSO (1.75%), and EIS (0.4%) on top of base salary, for a true total employment cost of roughly 15.15% above salary alone. For example, a staff member earning RM 4,000 a month costs closer to RM 4,606 a month once these statutory contributions are included.

Calls Automated Per Year

We multiply your daily call volume by 250 working days a year, a standard Malaysian working year excluding weekends and public holidays, then apply your chosen automation rate. If your team handles 150 calls a day and you set automation at 75%, that's 28,125 calls a year handled by AI instead of staff.

Staff Hours Freed

Automated calls are multiplied by your average call duration to get total minutes freed, then converted to hours. This reflects time your team no longer needs to spend on calls that AI now handles, time that can go toward higher-value work like closing deals or handling complex customer issues.

Equivalent Staff Capacity Freed

Total hours freed is divided by standard annual working hours, 2,080 hours, based on a typical 40-hour work week across 52 weeks, to express the time savings as a number of full-time staff equivalents. This helps answer a practical question: how many additional hires would you need to handle this same call volume manually?

% of Payroll Saved

This shows the estimated gross saving as a percentage of your total annual staff cost, calculated as gross saving divided by total annual staff cost. It gives a quick sense of scale, how much of your current calling-related payroll could be freed up through automation, independent of your specific salary numbers.

Estimated Gross Saving

This is the equivalent staff capacity freed, multiplied by the true cost per staff member, including EPF, SOCSO, and EIS. It represents the value of time and capacity returned to your business through automation, shown as a gross figure before any OpenGreet subscription cost is deducted, so you can compare it directly against your current staffing cost.

Why Gross, Not Net Savings

We intentionally show gross savings rather than subtracting a specific OpenGreet plan cost, since the right plan depends on your call volume and features needed. This keeps the comparison honest and lets you weigh the gross opportunity against your actual plan cost separately. View pricing or book a demo for a tailored net savings estimate.

Figures are estimates based on the inputs you provide and standard Malaysian statutory contribution rates as of 2026. Actual results vary based on your specific call types, team performance, and business context.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does OpenGreet's AI voice agent handle Manglish and mixed-language conversations naturally?

Yes. Malaysian customers often switch between Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin within the same conversation, sometimes mid-sentence. OpenGreet's AI voice agents follow this natural code-switching rather than forcing callers into one language, so a customer can start a question in English and get a reply that shifts naturally to Bahasa Melayu if that's how the conversation is heading.

Is OpenGreet compliant with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA 2010)?

OpenGreet is built to support PDPA-aligned workflows for Malaysian businesses, including data minimisation, secure storage of call recordings and transcripts, and configurable AI call disclosure so customers know they're speaking with an AI agent. Compliance ultimately remains your organisation's responsibility, but the platform is designed to make PDPA-aligned deployment straightforward.

Can OpenGreet call Malaysian numbers across different states, including East Malaysia?

Yes. OpenGreet supports outbound and inbound calling to Malaysian numbers nationwide, from Kuala Lumpur and Penang through to Sabah and Sarawak. If your business operates across multiple states or branches, call flows, business hours and routing can be configured differently per location.

How does OpenGreet account for Malaysia's statutory employment costs when estimating ROI?

Our Malaysia ROI calculator factors in EPF employer contributions (13%), SOCSO (1.75%) and EIS (0.4%) on top of base salary, since these statutory costs are part of what it actually costs to employ a Malaysian staff member handling calls. That gives a more accurate savings estimate than comparing against base salary alone.

Does OpenGreet work with call centres and BPOs based in Malaysia?

Yes. Malaysian BPOs and call centres use OpenGreet to absorb overflow call volume, handle after-hours enquiries, and manage repetitive workflows like appointment confirmations and payment reminders, freeing human agents for more complex conversations. The AI voice agent can be configured to hand off to a live agent whenever a call needs one.
